Cocoon have always had the connections and clout to hold some of the best parties in the land, usually featuring a plethora of sought after artists from the house and techno scene. For the latest edition of Cocoon Heroes in London, taking place on Saturday December 1st, respective legends and lauded figures Cassy and Carl Craig are tipped to play B2b in an excluisve set, also joining the likes of Papa Sven, Matthias Kaden and Onur Ozer on the night. Ahead of the unique partnership, that'll see both artists blend their unique styles into a solid tour de force, Carl Craig decided to interview Cassy in an informal, off the cuff chat. Sexual tensions, being a boy and Porsche cars are all touched upon. Read on...

Carl: Did you ever want to be a boy? Cassy: No fucking way. Must be weird to have this thing that you can't control, even though it certainly comes with a lot of advantages. The world needs women. Being another boy would not be of any use to anyone...

How much does lust and sex inspire your creativity? I think lust and sex inspires everything all the time. Unfulfilled lust and sex is cause of most trouble in the world. I was raised in Vienna and i don't know if it's something in the air or what it is about Vienna that makes an analytic mind root everything to sex. Freud obviously really had a point. The ambiance of Vienna especially in his days was a very intricate, particular and for sure seedy and very very interesting one. Vienna was the melting pot of Continental and eastern Europe. So incredibly perfect to study the sexual habits of people and why they do and they don't. Repression of desire and lust is the root of madness, illness, frustration...

If you had a son, where would be the perfect city to raise him? The perfect city to raise a child doesn't exist. They all have advantages and disadvantages. The perfect city would probably the one I live in.

So Jeanie, what do you love most about Ferris? He's very sweet and endearing and also very very annoying... That he's my brother.

Imagine you're visiting yourself in high-school as a 16 year old. what would you tell yourself? You're a beautiful talented girl, trust yourself, be brave and don't give into the bad voice inside yourself. All you have seen and done is a lot to handle and no one around you can understand what you are going through. Believe in yourself and don't listen to people around you not trusting in life and love in general. They are all lost and frustrated and the last people to judge and advise you. They have less idea than you. Go on be strong... everything will be more than fine.

What has been your greatest success? To achieve whatever I wanted to achieve and not letting myself be held back by doubt and negativity.

What has been your greatest failure? To listen to and give into my own and people's doubt and negativity.

What "artist" would you like most to lay under a tree and have a picnic with? Pierre Laurent Aimard and Daniel Day Lewis. Two artists iI admire the most... I find their way of working so extremely inspiring. They are doing it for the love of it. 100%... No bullshit... and they are so good. They are doing it from their heart and they've worked very hard for it. Very inspiring...

...and what experiences would you want with him/her? No Carl I don't want to have sex with them.

What one instance would you spend €100,000 on right this minute? An old 1980's Porsche.

Catch Cassy and Carl playing back to back at Cocoon Heroes: Into The Magic on Saturday 1st December. Tickets and iinformation can be found here.
