Nina Kraviz, Laidback Luke, Tommie Sunshine, Seth Troxler, and Joris Voorn may have built a reputation for rocking the dance floor – but unless you’ve dated one of them you probably have no idea what they’re capable of doing in the kitchen.
Yesterday on the first day of ADE, these DJ’s traded in their headphones and turntables for chef hats and aprons and joined each other in the kitchen for an intense cook off arranged by ADE organizers. The five DJs showcased a different kind of mixing and dropping-in as they prepared their delicious meals in front of a live audience of very fortunate invited guests. It doesn’t stop there…No cooking DJ cooking contest would be complete without any industry judges so notorious DJ foodies Dubfire, Dave Clarke, and Paul Oakenfold officiated the affair and taste tested each dish. Who better than a globetrotting DJ to determine what truly remarkable food is?! Detroit DJ, Seth Troxler, as was the case last year, yet again took top honors. Dubfire used Instagram to break the news, commenting on Seth’s “Amazing ossobuco with bone marrow risotto.” The Sci+Tec label head went on to praise Joris Voorn’s clean concept and presentation.
Hats off to all the chefs who participated and we eagerly await next year’s battle to see if Seth can continue his winning streak that began last year at 2011’s event.
