The celebrated Sydney Festival makes a much welcomed return in 2013, announcing their lineup for January which includes some exciting names across the electronic music spectrum. Nicolas Jaar will be making his Australian debut at the festival ahead of his appearance at Laneway Festival in February, Norwegian disco king Lindstrom is set to headline the Future Classic party and then Sydney party starters Picnic will be throwing a double-header with Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area fame and Daniel Wang. All those names will be playing in a brand new venue, Paradiso at Town Hall, which replaces the long-serving Hyde Park Barracks.
Other highlights on the roster for 2013 include a special performance of Kraftwerk's eighth studio album 'Computer World' by Nite Jewel and Peanut Butter Wolf and a show from the Darkside outfit - a collaboration between Nicolas Jaar and his band guitarist Dave Harrington. Both shows take place in The Famous Spiegeltent in Hyde Park.
Next year the festival will also sadly lose it's opening party Festival First Night due to NSW government funding cuts, which had an estimated 200,000 visitors this year.
