The babyface of a new generation of young electronic artists taking over the world, Zedd has quickly become one of the biggest, most talked about artists in dance music today. Born in Russia, Zedd aka. Anton Zaslavski moved to Germany when he was a baby and picked up learning drums and piano when he was only 4 years old. He has released music on Skrillex’s OWSLA label and Dim Mak, before signing to Interscope this year and releasing his debut album 'Clarity' earlier this month to massive reception and praise. His unique style of popular electroc house has seen him have huge success with tracks such as 'Shave It', 'Slam The Door' and 'Spectrum'. Stereosonic will be Zedd’s Australian debut, and you do not want to miss this rising star.
With a career spanning more than a decade, the Netherlands' Joris Voorn is one of the most established and influential electronic music artists today. 2012 has been a massive year for Markus Schulz. In August he released his mammoth 19 track album 'Scream', and last month was named 'America's Best DJ' for the year by DJ Time Magazine. Throughout his career spanning more than two decades, Markus Schulz has cemented himself as one of the best trance artists in the world, bringing an energy and passion to his sets like no other. The man responsible for such trance anthems as 'Do You Dream', 'Rain' and 'The New World', Stereosonic is your chance to experience America's Best DJ, Markus Schulz.
Scottish triple threat Calvin Harris needs little introduction. With three albums under his belt, including the just released '18 Months', Calvin Harris is an accomplished singer, DJ and producer for some of the biggest names in music including Tiesto, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, Florence and The Machine and Ellie Goulding. With countless hits to his name including ‘I’m Not Alone’, ‘Feel So Close’, 'Flashback' and 'We'll Be Coming Back' with Example, Calvin Harris has bridged the gap between pop and electronic music, leaving no wonder why he is one of the headlining acts for this year's Stereosonic.
French electronic musician and film director, Quentin Dupieux is the ever-surprising, always exciting Mr. Oizo. His track 'Flat Beat' became iconic in dance music along with its video that featured a certain yellow sock puppet named Flat Eric. Dupieux is also the man repsonsible for the music of fellow French electro star Uffie, writing and producing her debut album in 2010. Creative, forward and unconventional, Mr. Oizo is one to watch at Stereosonic.
After watching fellow 2012 Stereosonic artist Excision DJing in 2008, Datsik (aka Troy Beetles) began producing his own brand of aggressive, unapologetic dubstep and quickly became one of the biggest acts in bass music. Bound by no label or genre, Datsik has remixed and collaborated with such artists as Wu-Tang Clan, Noisia and Diplo, and this year founded his own label, Firepower, which has already signed artists such as Bare Noize, xKore and Delta Heavy. If you aren't afraid of some big, bad bass, Datsik is the act for you.
Adam Beyer is a pioneer of the Swedish techno sound, shaping the industry for more than a decade. Founding the world renowned Drumcode Records, Truesoul Records, Code Red and Mad Eye Recordings, Adam Beyer remains one of the most influential DJs and producers in the genre. As one of the most highly anticipated acts on the Stereosonic lineup, Adam Beyer brings his driving and hardhitting brand of techno down under, in what's to be one of the most exciting sets of the day.
Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, at only 23 years old quickly skyrocketed to become one of the biggest artists in music today. As one of the hardest working artists in the industry, Bergling made a name for himself in dance music with huge dance floor fillers 'Seek Bromance', 'Silhouettes', 'Street Dancer', 'My Feelings For You' and the phenomenal 'Levels'. Avicii returns to Stereosonic for his second year in a row, armed with a tonne of his own, highly anticipated releases and an energy and show that made him one of the highlights of last year's festival.
