Stereosonic 2012 Artist Preview Pt. 1

As far as festivals and dance music go, it doesn’t get any bigger than Stereosonic. Now in its 6th year, the national festival is once again bringing the world’s biggest and best dance music artists to Australia for a nation wide tour. Last year Stereosonic broke the record in Sydney for Australia’s largest ever festival, and shows no sign of slowing down this year with an absolutely mammoth lineup of dance music icons and legends.

This year Stereosonic kicks things off in Sydney on November 24th and to get you in the mood we’ve put together a preview of just a few of the killer acts that will be gracing our shores next month as part of the festival. Example
Elliot John Gleave, also known as Example, is one of the biggest acts in music today. This British singer, rapper and songwriter took the world by storm with his 2005 debut album 'What We Made', and has been an unstoppable force ever since. Example churns out chart-topping hits with ease including the number one singles ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’, ‘Kickstarts’ and ‘Stay Awake’. A renowned live act, Example's highly anticipated 4th album ‘The Evolution of Man’ drops November 19th, just in time for fans to grab a copy before seeing the man himself live in action.

Major Lazer
Without a doubt one of the biggest and most powerful outfits in dance music today, the team of producers Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire are Major Lazer. Burning dancefloors around the world, Major Lazer have brought dancehall to the forefront of dance music and are repsonsible for the dancefloor classic ‘Pon De Floor’. More recently, Major Lazer have created two of the biggest dance music tracks of the past year with ‘Get Free’ and ‘Original Don'. Expect to hear anything and everything in Major Lazer's renowned set, just be ready to dance.

Porter Robinson
Only 20 years old, Porter Robinson has cemented himself as the leader of the charge of young electronic music producers. With countless hits including ‘Spitfire’, ‘Vandalism’, ‘Language’ and ‘Unison’, Porter Robinson pushes boundaries with his own music and genre-defying sets. Signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label and one of the biggest artists in dathe dynamic and talented Porter Robinson is one act not to be missed at this year's Stereosonic. Flux Pavilion
A dubstep legend and co-founder of the iconic Circus Records label, Flux Pavilion has been a game-changer in the genre since day one.  Returning to Australia next month with his epic show and armed with a tonne of new music from his upcoming album, Flux Pavilion will be bringing the bass and melting faces around the country, an act not for the faint hearted. Infected Mushroom
Heralded as the innovators and pioneers of the Psytrance genre, Infected Mushroom are electronic music legends. Twice ranked amongst the world’s '10 Best DJ’s' by DJ Magazine, Infected Mushroom will be bringing their visual, out-of-this-world show and hardhitting, confronting sound to Australian shores next month.This is the one music lovers have been waiting for.

Nina Kraviz
In the past 12 months Nina Kraviz has experienced a rapid rise to stardom, like no other. Freshly one of the biggest names in house and techno, Nina Kraviz made her name with her original blend of house, techno and acid and undeniably talented production. With flair and confidence, Nina Kraviz is the epitome of cool, with a sound to match. A star in the making, this is your chance to see Nina Kraviz in her debut Australian tour.

Loco Dice
Loco Dice is a house and techno legend, acclaimed for being one of the world's best DJs. With a dance music career spanning more than a decade, Loco Dice began as a rapper and hip-hop artist, a genre that still influences him today. Founder of the Desolat label, Loco Dice is one of the most anticipated acts of the year, and where better to see him than at Australia’s biggest dance music festival. Carl Cox
One of the world's biggest DJs, a veteran of the British rave scene, a techno pioneer and a continual ground-breaker, Carl Cox is a name synonymous with dance music. There are few genres Carl Cox has not influenced in some way over his twenty year career, and he is now more prominent and active in the genre than ever, holding down his Ibiza residencies and hosting some of the world's biggest parties and events. This year Stereosonic is graced by dance music royalty in Carl Cox.
