Today's strange but true news is that pop star Lady Gaga has recently visited Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, with the pair sharing a meal during her five hour visit. 26-year-old Gaga made her visit following a perfume launch across the road from the embassy at high-end retailer Harrods, entering the embassy around 7pm on Monday 8th, emerging again sometime after midnight. She then later posted a photo of herself with Assange on her Twitter.
It's definitely a strange pairing, however there is a link between the two, albeit a bit tenuous. US news website The Atlantic reports that Bradley Manning used Gaga's music to help him download hundreds of thousands of classified documents from US Army servers, before he leaked them to WikiLeaks.
One of Manning's chat logs read:
"I would come in with music on a CD-RW labelled with something like Lady Gaga erase the music then write a compressed split file. No one suspected a thing ... [I] listened and lip-synched to Lady Gaga's Telephone while exfiltrating possibly the largest data spillage in American history."

No reports yet on what the topics of discussion were during her visit. Pulse also cannot 100% confirm if they actually had wine with dinner.
