Snoop Dog is a household name the world over. Known for his chronic-friendly west coast hip hop sound he correctly states in the video below: “I got rap songs that’ll never die.” It’s easy to forget that amidst all of this success, he almost went to jail for Murder and has lost several friends to death along the way. In the trailer for the forthcoming documentary “Reincarnated” we see Snoop’s efforts to distance himself from the rap world that birthed him and begin to chart a new musical course.
Endeavoring to create an album that features “no rapping at all,” he’s now channeling a reggae-influenced sound. With collaborators like Major Lazer’s Diplo, we’re confident Snoop will still be making records for “da cub” with a whole lots of balls in the low end.
The film will premiere as an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival that will run from September 6-16, 2012 and was produced by Vice Films in association with Snoop's aptly titled production company, Snoopadelic Films.
