Rinse turns 18

From its lowly beginnings as a pirate radio station in the then decidedly gritty realms of East London, Shoreditch based Rinse FM has risen to become the crowned king of all that's urban.  Set up back in 1994 by urban originator Geeneus, the station was recommended by John Peel and its host of volunteer MC's and DJs have since won and been nominated for several Mercury Music Prizes.  The station won a legal FM license in 2010, began its online presence in 2006, and it's fair to say without it the likes Grime and Dubstep (in its early form) simply wouldn't exist.

First champions of the likes of Wiley, Dizzee and Skepta, the station formed the basis of the UK's urban and bass music genre and continues to grow in popularity and importance on the scene with a presence this summer in Ibiza and at several festivals.  Later this year, the station comes of age turning the grand old age of 18 and is planning to celebrate in typical form with a party in Manchester and one in London on the cards.  The line ups are tbc, but if its roster of related artists is anything to go by it's going to be HUGE.  Check the details below and keep it here for more information on what the nights will hold.
