Pulse readers know both Deadmau5 and Mr. C love social media controversy more than most. That’s why when the Mau5 found out about this month old rant by Mr. C, that all hell broke loose. It’s seen fans of each DJ/Producer wholeheartedly (and often blindly) defending their favorite guy and, also seen Mr. C and Deadmau5 go back and forth a fair amount as well.
I don’t really have a horse in this race, but I can say it’s getting a little old to hear people go back and forth about the same shit without even remotely attempting to digest the other person’s take on things in the interest of actually arriving at a hug-it-out-and-let’s-move-on outcome.
I personally don’t really care what music you create, what technology you use to play it, or what genre you think is the best. The bottom line is that if the global explosion in popularity of the myriad of formats of currently available electronic music isn’t serving to bring us all together as people who love to have a good time and raise their hands in the air, then we can all wave goodbye to another opportunity that this world has tossed us to prove we’re all not a bunch of shortsighted, self-absorbed, bickering children.
