Helen S, London - United Kingdom - on 18/6/12
London's Ministry of Sound club has always had a repuation for innovation. One of the world's first 'super clubs', the venue opened its doors back in 1991 and to this day The Box (a five sided room within a room in the club) is still considered one of the most sonically perfect soundsystems ever created. It should come as little surprise then that the club, in collaboration with Martin Audio and Nissan, has unveiled a further weapon in its audio armoury; the world's loudest mobile soundsystem weighing in at 150 decibels and 18,900 watts.
Labeled the Juke Box as it currently resides inside Nissan's latest automobile creation, the tiny Juke car, the three leaders in their own industry fields have collaborated to design a soundsystem so mobile and so loud that they've decided to take it on tour across Europe this summer. Kicking off at Le Mans over the weekend, the Juke Box will be appearing all over the place, starting pop up parties and impromptu stages at events and festivals across the UK and Europe as it goes. Not only that, but should you fail to stumble across the mighty rumble of the Juke Box, Ministry of Sound is capturing all the sets played on it for output on its radio station at the fortnightly time of Monday, 5-7pm.
