Wham! bam, thank you ma’am. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley are set to perform for a special one-time event reuniting their super-pop duo Wham! This rare occasion marks the 30-year anniversary since the duo formed. Releasing his new single ‘White Light’ on June 29th, Michael is enthused about the commemorative concert and was quoted saying, “On June 29 it will be 30 years to the day that 'Wham! Rap', our first single, entered the charts. To celebrate, I'm releasing my new song. I dreamed of a career as a singer/songwriter from an early age but never could I have known I'd still be here 30 years later, with much more music to give.”
Wham!'s first release 'Wham! Rap (Enjoy What you Do)', which came out in 1982, was the first of a string of hits from the duo that included 'Young Guns (Go for It!)', 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' and 'Last Christmas'. This reunion concert should be full of pop favorites and fun surprises. Maybe Zoolander and Hansel will get in on the action. A girl can dream.
