Europeans have always enjoyed a slightly more “liberal” attitude towards parties and meeting new people than the US. You need only to look at their perspective on the importance of travel, and understanding more than one language to see why this gives them an advantage over us Yanks in more than one arena. They also tend to have a slightly more lax approach towards public soirees and meet ups. At this year’s Sonar, Luciano’s Vagabundos party took full advantage of this disposition by arranging an unannounced gathering in Barcelona’s Estació de França. It was obviously mobbed and looks like a great time, but the coolest aspect of it all from my perspective was that the station was still in operation for the entire time. Props to the guy clinging to the fence to catch a peek!
