Forget Simon Cowell's DJ X-Factor, there's a new DJ program on the horizon. According to The Music Network, a TV franchise is in the works based on EMI’s She Can DJ competition, of which last year's inaugural contest was taken out by DJ Minx, who beat a shortlist of 10 female DJs from Australia and New Zealand, and won a recording contract with EMI in the process.
Amsterdam-based EMI Executive Vice President, Marketing Europe and Rest Of World, Bart Cools, says that the competition format would shine on TV.
“We’ve started talking with some TV production companies to see if they could help us out developing a format around this,” Cools told TMN.
If all goes to plan, the Dutch TV project would co-incide with the Amsterdam Dance Event, held this October 17-21.
