Gilles Peterson curates Traction Festival

Gilles Peterson, champion of undiscovered world and electronic music, is but a month away from seeing his latest project come to fruition.  The 6Music DJ and Brownswood Recordings label owner has put his decades worth of musical knowledge to good use for London's 2012 festival by curating a one day event on July 14th.  Traction Festival will take over one of London's largest (and newest) urban spaces at Granary Square in Kings Cross for the day and will form part of 12 weeks of celebrations around the Olympics this summer.

But here's the best news: the line up.  In typically tasteful fashion, Peterson has selected some of his favourite European artists (one of the themes of the festival) for the one dayer, including the lush sounds of France's Sebastian Tellier and the modern electronic jazz of The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble.  Also playing on 14th are Ghostpoet, Baloji, Benny Sings and Plugs, along with DJ sets from RKK, Thristian and Peterson himself and you can check out the exclusive mix he's done to showcase just what you can expect.
