Sydney finally catches up with the rest of the world and also other parts of Australia that are bringing food truck craze to it’s citizens. Melbourne was the first Australian city to adopt the growing trend of mobile food trucks, arguably you could say Raph from Beatbox Kitchen kicked it off with his home-style personal brand of fairly incredible beef burgers and then with the Taco Truck, others followed suit.
In the case of Melbourne council vs Food trucks, they have been very strict on what and where they can set up shop, so far it’s been restricted to the outer, inner suburban limits (Gumbo in Northcote & Taco Truck/Beatbox Kitchen in North Carlton). Lord Mayor Clover Moore is on the other-hand super keen to bring the food truck noise and pump out some hopefully awesome portable feeds. Sydney’s ever growing amount of food bloggers are all rubbing their grubby hands together in anticipation to updating their instagrams with gloating pictures of finger feeds. Notably, the tech savvy council is building an app around the launch of the food trucks, sign up here to get notified!
Sydney City Council is proposing 10 new food truck operators:
