Not only is Tim Green a world renowned DJ and producer, he also fronts London and Kent's Bedlam events. Ahead of Bedlam London's 3rd party, we caught up with Tim to find out about the headliners of the event on 23rd June.
Hey Tim, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today! Tell us a little about your Bedlam London night? I have only done the two previous Bedlam London parties, it genuinely feels like there have been so many more. Both parties have been so much fun. Could not have asked for better nights. I have so many memories from them both. Each one was sold out in advance, with such a perfect crowd and amazing atmosphere. Each time the venues have been different, but have created a really good setting for the parties. The line ups have all been great. Art Department, Pablo Cahn for the first. Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Laura Jones and M.A.N.D.Y. for the 2nd. With our residents Kitsch and Sync playing both times, always setting up the vibe perfectly too. I am super happy with the way Bedlam London is going. I never thought it would of gone so well just so soon. So I'm am even more excited for our 3rd party in June, if its anything like the last 2, nobody should miss out on this!
The headliner at your next party is David August, what made you want to book him? The first time I heard of David August was when I picked up his first release on Dynamic. The track Rebound Bro was the one I was playing a lot. Had a nice vocal hook to it. But for me since then his tracks/remixes just ended up getting better and better, and more interesting. His second EP on dynamic was much more emotional I think, but still great dancefloor records. The track Peace of Conscience is a good example of this.
What's your favourite David August original? "Stepping Through Myself" is my favourite original production from him. Great production and sleazy, moody vibe. Its a more recent track by him. But again, I think he keeps getting better and better.
And remix? The most stand out piece of work for me from David has to be his remix of Gone by DJ Phono. I have always played that record for so long, still do of course. It's exactly the sort of sound I am into. Great simple groove with a perfect musical element to contrast in the changes.
Joining Mr August will be Till Von Sein, when did you first take note of Till? I think the first I knew about Till Von Sein was his stuff on Morris Audio. I always loved this label, bought anything and everything they released. The track "Berno" was one of my favourites. Also stuff on Dirt Crew recordings later on was where I think I was playing a lot more of Till Von Sein's releases.
Care to share with us your favourite track by him? There are so many to choose, but "Sista O Dissy" without a doubt. I love this record so much. Just a great simmering record, I love the simple idea behind, great guitar sample in there that should almost not work, but works so well. More recently I really love the "Biloxi Jam" track he did with Chopstick. Has a harmonica in it haha, its brilliant! Again it's quite unorthodox to use a sound like this, but it works so well.
Finally, what would you say is your favourite remix by Till Von Sein? "Belvedere" by Kiki and Sasse. Is a record to get lost in for me. Just listen closely to it, or let it wash over you. So lush, perfect early morning vibes.
