Would it be fair to say that Manchester's Sankeys club has grabbed The Hacienda's rave baton and sprinted for the finish line since its opening back in '94? Given The Hacienda's not only legendary but also pioneering status in the city, that could be said to be stretching it slightly, but nevertheless David Vincent's club has consistently done more for quality modern day dance music than many other clubs in the UK in its 18 year history. Which is why, come the Jubilee weekend this weekend, a tie up between the two clubs has 'unforgettable' written all over it.
Hosting the second and third installments of The Hacienda's 30th anniversary celebrations, Sankey's has its doors open all weekend and The Hacienda will be taking over its successor's dancefloors on the Saturday and Monday of the forthcoming Bank Holiday. Line ups are looking unsurprisingly slick, with Laurent Garnier, Kevin Saunderson, Allistair Whitehead and 808 State all passing through Sankeys' doors on either Saturday 2nd or Monday 4th June. And if you'd like to be there as a guest for both events, just retweet this article with the words 'The Hacienda lives', remembering to tag @pulseradio.
