Party princess Paris Hilton appears set to continue her massacring of house music by announcing her DJ debut, which will mark the beginning of a new career in the industry.
No doubt growing tired of fist pumping next to her boyfriend Afrojack in the DJ booth, Hilton's reps confirmed with Mixmag yesterday that she is in fact getting behind the decks herself for a one-hour set at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 23rd, with more gigs on the way.
Apparently Hilton has spent much of her spare time over the years spinning at private parties for friends, though this will be her first ever 'professional' gig. The heiress had this to say to Billboard about her new venture:
“I cannot wait to DJ for the first time in front of thousands of people. I have been a part of the music scene and club scene since I was 15. It’s something I have been passionate about and have come to respect very much. I am very excited to share all of my hard work with the world."
It will be interesting to see how things pan out for her, given that she was so proud of her recent house track Drunk Text that she almost instantly pulled the video from the internet following the onslaught of negative criticism it received.
A word of warning, Paris: you can't retract a live gig. Good luck.
