It’s no secret that Toronto’s No. 19 Music has spent the last year firmly establishing its rightful place among underground house’s elite labels. Helmed by Art Department’s Jonny White it began in 2008 when he endeavored to create an outlet for “his own recordings and those of a close-knit group of like-minded native artists.” It’s since become an internationally recognized party and launching board for some of the industry’s hottest new faces as well. For their next release Art Department joins forces with the venerable Konrad Black for a dark number featuring a characteristically phat and bouncy analog bass, along with a hauntingly hypnotic male vocal.
The two versions feature something for everyone, though I happen to be partial to Version 1.
