Electric Zoo Phase 1 Announced

With so much in the news lately about how big dance music has become in the states, and some of the negative press surrounding the indictment of Pasquale Rotella the producer of the Electric Daisy Carnival, we somehow lost track of one of the most influential dance music promoters in the states, Made Event.  We’ve heard (and written) so much about Ultra in Miami and the EDC that it may have slipped your mind that Made Events pioneered the Electronic Music Festival in the New York area and essentially laid the groundwork for the exponential increase in EDM’s acceptance in the United States’ biggest city and surrounding area.

The injustice ends now! As we’re happy to announce that Electric Zoo has just released Phase One of their lineup for their massive three-day festival set to unfold Aug 31-Sept 2 on New York City’s Randall’s Island with the Manhattan skyline as a fitting backdrop to the whole affair.  As has become par for the large American Festival course, the current bill seems dominated by the largest crossover artists in the game with David Guetta, Axwell and Tiesto set to headline Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.   Several other large acts are set to appear including Above & Beyond, Dada Life, Sander Van Doorn, Benny Benassi, Wolfgang Garner, Martin Solveig, Porter Robinson, Zed’s Dead, with Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak hosting the Riverside Stage on Saturday alongside Datsik, 12th Planet, Felix Cartel and more. Sunday’s lineup even mentions the appearance of a “very special guest.”

Relief for those of us with more underground sensibilities comes in the form of The Sunday School Grove where Made Event keeps the party they began in Miami alive.  With artists like Sasha, Luciano, Reboot, Paco Osuna, Maya Jane Coles, Claude VonStroke, Marco Carola, Dixon, Koze and more, there’s a good chance you’ll find Pulse rocking out pretty hard in this area.

Overall it’s a solid presentation of different sounds, in a great outdoor location, with expertly handled production that is sure to put a smile on every attendee’s face.
