Playground Weekender have announced the second line-up of acts for their 2012 edition, which includes drum & bass legend (and Playground favourite) LTJ Bukem and long-standing house and techno DJ, Germany's Steve Bug. The DJs will join two other special names; recent Pulse Radio podcaster Russ Yallop, and underground star Amirali - who was picked as one of Beatport's 'artists to watch in 2012' - who will be making his Australian debut with a brilliant live show. Both latter names are set to grace the festival's Rebel Rave tent.
The good news of the second line-up also unfortunately comes with the previously reported bit of sad news too; that Fat Freddy’s Drop and Modeselektor are unavailable to perform at this year’s event. Fat Freddy’s Drop management comments;
“The band was very much looking forward to playing at Playground Weekender and MS Fest, however, urgent changes in the band’s personal schedule has resulted in key members now not being available for these dates. Fat Freddy’s Drop and Niche Productions wish to apologise to both fans and organisers of the events for any inconvenience.”
Andy Rigby, Playground Weekender Promoter comments on the cancellations;
“We apologise profusely for any upset caused by the two acts no longer performing at the festival, however with a line-up bursting with international and local talent we are confident the sixth edition of Playground Weekender is going to be better than ever and look forward to giving you a few more gems in the near future!”
