Heidi Rants at Hot Creations Imitators

Heidi recently took to her facebook fanpage to reel at "copycat" producers who are churning out records that bear striking similarity to the sound championed by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss' Hot Creations label.

"Come on people. I know when something is good you obviously jump on it. But if i have to download and listen to one more record today that sounds like a hot creations record i'm going to throw myself into on coming traffic. Don't get me wrong. Love HC but be a little more creative. That bassline has been done to death. Please don't kill it. I actually like it."

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but with music it can often oversaturate the market and prematurely deaden excitement for the truly unique. Perhaps innovation might be the sincerest form of respect for something new and exciting. What do you all think? Join the discussion below.
