Sunday School in Miami RIP

After an infamous six year run, New York based Made Events is shuttering its successful Sunday School event for 2012. It represents the end of an admittedly “degenerate” era in which WMC in Miami made sure to close out even stronger than it began. Initially taking place at the legendary Pawn Shop and then moving to The Ice Palace, the event eventually expanded beyond its initial 24 hour long offering to span nearly an entire weekend. During the course of its lifespan, Sunday School For Degenerates became a legendary house and techno dust-up that gave frenzied conference attendees the chance to always end up in the same place, and while we’ll probably still get a chance to check out the same artists over the course of the week, we might not have the piece of mind that accompanies watching all your mate’s dig deep to pull off one final day of sunshine raving. While organizing New York’s exponentially expanding Electric Zoo is probably more than a full time job, it’s sad to see this fixture of March in Miami disappear from the horizon.
