As well as being a celebrated DJ and producer, one of Ewan Pearson's other talents is that of a knowledgeable dance music scribe, sharing his thoughts on a variety of industry topics through his semi-regular column for Germany's Groove magazine.
In his latest spiel for the mag, Pearson has given his two cents on the harsh door policies of one infamous Berlin nightclub following the barring and then hostile treatment of one of his journalist friends by the club's doorstaff, labeling their behavior as "antithetical to the inclusive or loving ideal which underwrites house music".
Pearson then goes on to weigh up the reasons why such door policies for nightclubs are in fact necessary, with the main one being that "the world is full of assholes and your club is almost certainly going to be better without them inside", before coming to the conclusion that door etiquette could still be carried out with far more 'care, politeness or consideration' than is currently being practised in Berlin.
Though the club in question is never actually named, I'm sure we all know which one he's referring to. In any case, the article is definitely worth a read, particularly for its clever incorporation of a disco tale from 1977 involving the infamous Studio 54 nightclub and the band Chic; headliners of this year's upcoming Playground Weekender Festival.
