Ultra Miami 2012 Phase One

Ultra Miami 2012 have just announced Phase One of their artist lineup and it’s easy to see just why they’ve won the IDMA award for best music event for the last three years in a row. Sporting an array of artists that span indie-dance rock, Electro, Trance, Tech House and Techno it’s no question that Ultra Miami is truly a beast on the EDM scene’s calendar. As always, things skew a bit heavily towards the “commercial dance” market but it’s interesting to note that dubstep has started to make some serious inroads with Skrillex, Zed’s Dead and Bassnectar all making appearances. Also of note, is the appearance of Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Art Department on Ultra’s Sunday schedule which may indicate that UMF organizers are starting to take notes on Made’s Sunday School For Degenerates successful model.
