The voting is open for this year's Best of British Awards, DJmag's celebration of the finest producers, DJs, labels, clubs and more from across the British dance scene. This year's awards ceremony take place on Wednesday 14th of December at East Village where the results of the public vote will be revealed. The full list of nominees is below.
Last year Paul Woolford walked away with the award for Best DJ and this year there's some completely fresh talent from arcross the bass music continuum to contend.
Hessle Audio boss Ben UFO is in with a chance, just read what he has to say about the state of bass music; the multi-talented Maya Jane Coles whose latest release we recently reviewed; and Hot Natured's Jamie Jones who recently made available a free download of his new re-edit of Heaven 17?
Lone and Damu are hot tips for the Breakthrough Producer award, but will likely be pipped at the post by the viral bug that is Mosca. Following his debut crossover success for Night Slugs records and a handful of recent garage and house modern classics, Mosca is in hot demand. Find out why in our recent interview Mosca here.
Jamie XX and T.Williams are favoured by many, yet Best Breakthrough DJ will surely go to man of the moment Julio Bashmore, who also previewed a new ep recently as a top knotch producer. The Best Single award is a also a diverse spread of nominees with hot competition between Mosca, the classy soul garage of Scuba (read our review of his Adrenalin single here) and the face slapping crunk trance of Rustie's Ultra Thizz (win a copy of his new album here).
In the Best Radio Show category, our very recent guest Sinden goes up the seminal against Mary Anne Hobbs (find out how she launched dubstep to the world here); and in the Best Compilation nominations is the much hyped Fourtet for his Fabriclive 59 mix. If you haven't heard it yet and you like your house check out the promo mix here.
