Summer in Canada is short and hot, with 2011 being no exception. Its been an exciting one for our My Favorite Robot project with releases on Crosstown Rebels & Visionquest, and upcoming EPs signed to Life & Death and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth. But winter is around the corner, and we’re ready. Boots, parka, long underwear are all a must for getting to next spring, as are these five tracks which are guaranteed to warm you up. - My Favorite Robot
Sid Le Rock – She Smiles - Defrag
“One of our favorite tunes from the past few years. Beautiful, full of emotion, and timeless. Perfect warmer for those dark winter nights”
Lala by – Pendulum (Chloe Remix) – My Favorite Robot Records
“Cold wave and new wave music has had a huge influence on our tastes and the direction of our label. Chloe’s remix of Pendulum is set to light dancefloors on fire! Look for it on My Favorite Robot Records in December”
Mathew Jonson – Dayz – Crosstown Rebels
“Perhaps our pick for track of the year. Robot love at first sight, this track has made it in to all of our sets for the last few months and will continue to be the source of good vibes throughout the winter”
My Favorite Robot – Forest Fires – Visionquest
“We’re really honored to have released our latest effort on Visionquest earlier this month. Forest Fires is a journey into the heart of a robot”
Daphni – Ahora – Amazing Sounds
“No one knows cold winters like a Canadian! Been loving the output from Dan Snaith aka Caribou/Daphni and this track is everything we love about his sound. Great for home listening in front of the fireplace or peak hour in a big dark sweaty room.”
