Egbert provides Cocoon Recordings with a musical exclamation mark that sets standards in harmonic but consequently demanding TechHouse somewhere in between Dub, Progressive House and Detroit. Likewise, this brand new DJ mix by Egbert to celebrate his immanent Australian tour schedule contains similar breadth and Pulse Radio is excited to present it to you for the first time here.

With appearances coming up this weekend with our friends at Strawberry Fields and later on also at Subsonic Festival, many of you will want to get to know this guy. Judging by the DJ mix he made esepcially for Australia, Egbert is looking forward to arriving:

"Yeah first time australia! Really exited about it! And loving the summer! There are quite a lot of australian people in holland. I allways have experienced australian people as relaxt and easy going people".

Talking to us about the mix, Egbert explains that we can expect a similar selection at his upcoming shows: "I make music with the next coming up gigs in my head, so the style and sound will fit with the gig. I have at least one new track a week that I add to my live set.

Clearly enjoying his musical range, Egbert goes on to explain for us his relationship with Sven Vath at Cocoon Recordings.

"Cocoon got very little influence on my music. They wanted to have me on there agency because they like my sound. I can just do what I like to do and have very rarely comments from cocoon on my tracks."

Despite the distance, when asked what is on his stereo right now, Egbert proves he is still a fan of Cocoon.

"James Blake CD has been in my car for a couple of weeks now. I'm also listening to Chopin and the new Sounds of the Season from Sven wich was released last saturday at the cocoonclub (wich was a nice party!)."
So what's next for Egbert after Australia?

"Lots of cool gigs: doing two Awakenings on NYE, with a big show with lasers, fireworks, etc. Then a live concert for six hours together with Secret Cinema in the "melkweg" which is one of the most prominent places in Holland. I'm also still working on a album, and besides that i'm always making new tracks and doing remixes."
