Luca Bacchetti - Rebel Faves

I've always been a fan of Crosstown Rebels: that eclectic approach which from the start has been the label's trademark, that ability to surprise with sudden changes of direction; but always with the highest regard for quality, and that knack for catching the listener's attention.

These are just 5 of my favourite releases: five different worlds. These days the most important thing is to catch the listener's attention ... when the recording can't be boxed into a preconceived style, it usually means you've done a good job!

- André Kraml "Safari" (Kiki & Silversurfer Rmx) taken from Rebel Futurism Session Two (2005)

This piece reminds me of my first UK gigs, which for me meant the changeover from a breakbeat sound to a minimal hybrid techno style. A classic! And that's without mentioning the fabulous vinyl sleeves from the Rebel Futurism series. - Purchase here

-  Chic Miniature "Escandalo" (2008)

From the combined talents of two artists like Guillaume And The Coutu Dumonts and Ernesto Ferreyra you could only expect a masterpiece of passion and sensuality. Escandalo is a romantic voyage: for me one of the all-time best Crosstown releases! Purchase here

 - Inxec vs Droog "Westbound EP" (2011)

Dark and introspective, sensual and visionary ... the vocals are like strong splashes of colour .. I can imagine this as the soundtrack for an "on the road" doc dealing with modern day America .. is the Motorhome ready? Purchase here 

- Jamie Jones "Summertime ft. Ost & Kjex" Extended Vocal Mix (2009)

Always been a fan of Jamie, from the time I heard this song I got a sense of his Pop potential. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the big pop stars should entrust their productions to Jamie - the result would be great Pop, fresh and not superficial ... just imagine .. what if Prince had done he vocals on "Summertime"?
