Free Gig Friday

Free Gig Friday

Times are tight for many in London town right now, but thankfully the best things in life are free this Friday with a hat trick of up and coming names performing gratis at The CAMP in London. Germany's Erdbeerschnitzel has made real waves on the disco and house scene across this year with releases on Mirau, 4lux and 3rd Strike.  Joining him is a label that has consistently pushed the boundaries of stirling electronic music, the Join The Dots collective from London, with Duffstep and Helen S.  Finally, New York City's The Mixtape Club is over especially to celebrate its 2nd Anniversary and completes the night. Definitely one not to miss, here's a little of the kind of vibe you can expect on the night, courtesy of Tim Keiling aka Erdbeerschnitzel.

Dabrye - With A Professional (Ghostly International)

This is already 12 years old, ages in electronic music, but for me it is the perfect example for a beat dripping with soul, made out of just about 5 different sounds. production focus at its best.

 Fatima - Mind (Eglo)

I could pick just about anything on the new Fatima EP, which almost feels like a small LP. Must have, nuff said.

 C-Beams - Strollin (Uncanny Valley

C-Beams - Resident Advisor Label of the Month Mix by Uncanny Valley Dresden

I really like Dresden and the lovely Uncanny Valley heads, but some of the harder edged acid/techno stuff on their label just wasn't for me. However, this is masterclass. I'm not keen on analog sounds, to have something sounding as "real" as possible just for the sake of it, but when something this smooth is done with hardware, who could resist.  I can't.

Mano Le Tough - Stories (Buzzin' Fly)

I've known Mano since last year and his music really evolved from there. This surely is the highlight from his new EP which sounds quite pop, but in a good way. And this makes me really look forward to his upcoming album.

 Vektroid - Motions Feel (vektroid.bandcamp.com)

MOTIONS FEEL by VEKTROID

One of those finds where you think, wow, where did that come from? Out of space being the answer. This is Hudson Mohawkesque but with a proper song structure, Onra pitched down mixed with Krystal Boogie pitched up. No wait, it's just vektroid. such a special sound, worth to break through.
