Martyn's sophomore album, Ghost People, is released on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label on October 10th. To celebrate, he's just announced a series of launch parties across the globe with his artist partner, Erosie, who provided the art to accompany the album. Martyn will play a live set with Erosie's art as the backdrop, integrating the music from Ghost People and Erosie’s art, adapting it to each location. The first one will take place on September 15th at a secret London location with Kode9, dBridge and Manny Z.
Martyn says, of Ghost People: “The album is my idea of what’s going on in music at the moment. It’s four-to-the-floor based, and it’s also quite anxious. It’s obnoxious, it’s hard-sounding. I just wanted to make something a little more aggressive. ‘Ghost People’ is so many ideas packed in to so little time, but hopefully it will make you want to listen again. It’s similar to how Erosie’s artwork is intense, an overload of thoughts, instead of an easily digestible image.”
