The eagerly anticipated sensation in the form of Deadmau5 is coming to Exit Festival! As well as the Mau5, Dance Arena will be visited by German dance punk duo The Digitalism, as well as worldwide famous DJ’s Steve Aoki and Paul Kalkbrenner.
Deadmau5 is a music phenomenon from Toronto, Canada, whose music, progressive, electro and dance hits, alongside the rare costume of a giant mouse head in which he performs, catapulted him into the world club scene stardom. In only a few years, he turned from a relatively unfamiliar performer into a smashing superstar. His first hit from 2010, “Faxing Berlin” was followed by a very successful “Ghosts N Stuff”, topped by the extremely successful “I Remember” done in collaboration with American producer Kaskade. This one sold over 120,000 copies. Up till now, he has released five studio albums. The latest one, called 4x4=12 from December 2010 was promoted by singles "Animal Rights" and "Sofi Needs a Ledder". His career is additionally enriched by collaborations with MC Flipside, Rob Swire from Pendulum, Skrillex, and Steve Dude. He won various awards, among which are three Juno Awards, and even run for Grammy in 2009.
German dance punk duo The Digitalism are performing live at Exit Festival. Creators of such singles as Idealistic, Zdarlight, Jupiter Room and Pogo, and remixes done for The Presets, The Futureheads, Daft Punk, Tiga, Klaxons, White Stripes, Depeche Mode, Cut Copy, Monk released a new single Blitz in November last year. They described it as a ‘synthesizer explosion’ with the help of which these electronic astronauts will bring their space odyssey closer to the Earth.
One of the most famous Los Angeles based DJ-sSteve Aoki comes bringing his electro house. He is also a producer and the founder of Dim Mak Records, credited for the glory of such performers as The Kills, The Gossip, Klaxons, The Rakes, and worldly renowned for his remixes of tunes done by Michael Jackson, Killers, Lenny Kravitz, Weezer, Tiga, Chris Cornell. He's been trying himself out in fashion as well, putting together all the funky elements necessary for a great party.
Paul Kalkbrenner is a producer/actor from Berlin. Primarily a music theoretician and a trumpet player, this man decided to try himself out in electronic music in 2008, when he composed soundtrack for German film Berlin Calling, in which he also played the lead. His film theme “Sky and Sand reached formidable places in European charts. Separated with BPitch Control after a decade-long relationship, he took the next steps of his career alone, doing a twelve-city live concert tour throughout Europe, followed by many headlining appearances at summer festivals. Exit Festival's Dance Arena is just right for him.
