Louse Records is a new Bristol-based digital label curated by DJ and producer Kraymon who is known for his distinctive style of melodic breakbeat. The music ethos behind his new label is not genre-specific, neither does it conform to any one style. Louse Records spans the astoundingly wide spectrum of electronic music, cultivating a unique and multipurpose sound. Just as inspiring on the dance floor, as it is for listening alone.
Louse Records tracks are hard to pigeonhole by genre. You will discover elements of Future Garage, Dubstep, Breakbeat and Techno with cinematic sounds and huge bass all wrapped up in a neat Louse-shaped ball. The hard exoskeleton of a woodlouse and its sensitive inside is indicative of the Louse sound – tough beats and bass that encase heartfelt and soft intricate melodies.
Woodlice have survived on this earth for 50 million years, through unrivalled adaptation and evolution - Louse Records has similar skills, its not about garnering old sounds, it is about making new ones. We have got a lot to look forward to.
