Created in February 2002, by two DJs and musicians, Cyril K and Simon Says, since then joined by Seb El Nigno, DIALECT RECORDINGS (and its BATTLE division) has become over a 5 year periodof the most respected underground Parisian labels.
Dialect's main objective has always been to defend an open conception of music, hence a unique combination of releases featuring the most cutting-edge producers from the French (Ark, Krikor, Chloe, E-Troneek Funk, Simon Says, Quizz, Instant Noodles, Tim Paris...) and international electronic music scene (Lindstrom, Chicken Lips, Prins Thomas, Swag, Rob Mello, Riton, Charles Webster, Ewan Pearson & Al Usher aka Partial Arts, Pete Herbert, Tiger Stripes, Sasse, Naughty).
Since its launch the label has gained support from such DJs as Laurent Garnier, Trevor Jackson, Ivan Smagghe, Tiga, Luke Solomon, Dan Bell, D’Julz, Jef K, Dan Ghenacia, Heather and Dialect’s EPs are regularly reviewed in the international press in such magazines as I-D, Numero, WAD, DJ Mag, IDJ, Update, M8, Wire, XLR8R, Raveline, De-Bug, Groove Magazin.
In October 2005, Dialect released its first compilation called DIALECT INTERSECTION to rave reviews from such magazines as I-D, DJ Mag, XLR8R, Trax, De Bug, Raveline etc. confirming the international reputation of the label.
March 2007 saw the release of the wonderful CHIN CHIN album, welcomed by excellent reviews in the International Music / Fashion Press (Numero, Jalouse, Q, DJ Mag, Vibrations, The Fly, Blues & Soul, Vibrations, Spex, Groove, Intro etc....).
Hailing from Brooklyn, CHIN CHIN is combining elements of jazz, funk, disco, contemporary R&B, rock, and electro, with smart lyrics, powerful horn arrangements, and great showmanship.
Dialect will release Parisian DJ and composer LANOIRAUDE’s first album in October 2007 and THINK TWICE's second LP in the first quarter of 2008
The label is also present on the club front, with a residency at Nouveau Casino (Paris) and regular gigs in the best Parisian and foreing clubs such as the Cocoon (Frankfurt), Rex Club (Paris), Tryptique, Dirty Dancing (Brussels), 93 Feat East (London) , On the Roof (Moscow), Villa (Oslo).
