Germany’s Sven Vath is Germany’s most famous techno DJ, as well as one of the innovative and renowned DJs in dance music. Born in Frankfurt Germany, Vath began DJing in 1982 and quickly made history through his local scene. He began play marathon DJ sets over a series of hours, unheard of at the time, and one of the first DJs to play trance records. He was also one of the founders of legendary trance music label Harthouse. In 1995 Mixmag described his album ‘Accident In Paradise’ as one of the top 50 dance albums of all time. Vath displayed an understanding of club culture like no other, becoming a pioneer and innovator in the scene, rising to the top of the game. His live sets are universally legendary, inimitable journeys through genre unifying music lovers on dance floors around the world.
Over a career spanning more than 3 decades, Sven Vath has constantly pursued the continual development of dance music and fostering of new talent and the next generation of DJs. He is the cultural ambassador of the German Goethe Institute as well as the founder of his electronic music institution, the Cocoon network, which boasts an internationally renowned and admired booking agency, event agency, record label artist management service and club. In 2004 Vath founded a new era in German clubbing by opening his cocoonclub in the city of Frankfurt, raising the bar for music and design in clubs around the world. His Cocoon Ibiza events are the top parties of the summer, and are always the highlight of the Ibiza calendar.
