Solomun has long held clout in underground circles as a producer who has played a major role in turning European house music on its head, reconstructing classic sounds with modern twists.
The Hamburg-based, Bosnian-born Croat had a spectacular rise to popularity in 2012, but it was after a successful first season in Ibiza and a particularly triumphant take-over of Sankeys with his label crew for their Diynamic Neon Nights events, that it wasn’t long before Solomun was regularly featuring on festival and club bills all over world, picking up accolades regularly along the way. Some of the many accolades he collected in 2012 include DJ of the Year Mixmag Magazine, Best Producer- DJ Awards Ibiza, Best DJ- International Cool Awards|One of the busier figures in electronic music, Solomun runs two labels, Diynamic, which he co-founded with long-time friend Adriano Trolio over five years ago, and 2D1Y4, as well as being owner of one of the most prestigious and respected underground clubs in Germany, Ego; not to mention his immensely successful radio show Diynamic Radio which is broadcasted in 30 countries and syndicated by Ibiza Global Radio, Proton and Russia’s Radiotakt. His label has been instrumental in unleashing some of the best new talent in house and electro including Stimming, HOSH, Ost & Kjex, Uner and has gained a respect from the electronic music scene in shorter time than labels twice its age.
He has produced remixes for Buzzin Fly, Freerange, Get Physical, Phil E, Mobile Dessous, Compost, Four: Twenty as well as many more on his Diynamic imprint.
The release of his debut LP ‘Dance Baby’ was a critical success that climbed rapidly up the charts on and onto the top albums lists by Mixmag and Electronic Beats, his remix of ‘Around’ by Noir & Haze released in 2011 was voted by Resident Advisor as best remix of the year.
