Pako & Frederik have been part of the international dance scene for over 15 years now, gaining worldwide recognition for their productions, DJ’ing and live sets.
For this reason they have been chosen to launch Global Underground’s music imprint GU Music, which is Global Underground’s artists based label for singles and albums. Their first album was entitled ‘Atlantic Breakers’.
Pako (Sekander Raisani) & Frederik (Frederik Borgesius) have long been associated with the Global Underground brand and released several singles for the label, such as ‘Beatus Possessor’, ‘Western Approaches’ and ’45 Minutes’. However, the duo first featured on Global Underground in 1999, when John Digweed included their track ‘Blue Steel’ on his Global Underground Hong Kong album. John Digweed also signed a couple of twelve inches by the boys for his Bedrock label.
In 1996 Pako & Frederik started their own label Majestic Music. Their early releases led to immediate worldwide recognition, leading to numerous requests for their remix work, with their credits appearing on labels such as Nervous, Bedrock, DMC, Wally’s Groove World, Statra, Acetate, Dorigen and more.
Their tracks have featured on compilations mixed by: Sasha & Digweed, Carl Cox, Anthony Pappa, Jerry Bonham, Derrick Carter, Remy and Slam to name a few. They also released their own mixed compilation in 2002.
Pako & Frederik have achieved a lot since they met in Arnhem/Holland in 1992. Their first collaboration was in 1993 when Pako & Frederik produced a track called ‘Vauvenage’ with DJ Remy in a studio in the South of France. From this moment on Pako and Frederik joined forces to produce numerous club-hits such as: ‘The Magic Shop’ and ‘Seaside Atmosphere’. Their music has been used in computer games, movies and TV series like CSI Miami.
Since 1995 Pako & Frederik have performed live at international festivals like I Love Techno, Dancevalley (mainstage in 2004) and at numerous clubs worldwide such as Amnesia in Ibiza, Bedrock in London and Zouk in Singapore. More recently they have played live sets in Mexico, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and the Dominican Republic.
As well as live gigs, Frederik has spent the last 15 years DJ’ing all over the world, with gigs ranging from Ukraine to Japan. In the 90s Frederik also had a residency at the highly acclaimed club Fuse (Brussels, Belgium) for 5 years.
In 2006 they started a new label called Sitrep. The first two releases are by the boys themselves, using their family names: Raisani & Borgesius. The third release is by new talent TC Maniak.
At the moment Pako & Frederik are busy working on several twelve inches and remixes for various labels around the world.
In 2007 added a new element to their gigs: they started to do back to back DJ sets in places like the Continental DJ Club in Mexico City.
The last Pako & Frederik album was released in August 2007 on Global Underground, and is called ‘The Alert’.
