London Pleasure Gardens is to shut, after being an unprecedented failure. Apparently staff are owed wages, architects have not been paid and the creative director has washed his hands of it. London Pleasure Gardens Limited has entered into voluntary adminstration, following Bloc doing the same, just a few weeks ago. The expected visitors never arrived, after the closure of Bloc, many promoters wanted to steer well clear, after a scathing report was published online about the nature of the site and how unsafe it was. Half the site is still unfinished and it seems it will remain that way for the foreseeable future. Disappointed Bloc festival goers are still waititng to hear from Baselogic as to whether they will receive funds.
It's a shame but maybe they should have picked a less ambitious name.
