Darrens We Love...Terrace Favourites Since 1999

Space in Ibiza has been a Mecca for clubbers since it's opening in 1989 and is one of the island's oldest and biggest clubs. In particular the Space Terrace, soaked in rich musical heritage (oh if those walls could speak!) has seen over twenty years of euphoric summers. We caught up with We...Love's Darren Hughes as he gave us fourteen Summer bangers since We...Love's birth in 1999. 

1. 1999 Man With The Red Face - Laurent Garnier

First summer of We Love (Home) at Space. Laurent making his own signature tune even bigger. 

2. 2000 Modjo - Lady:  

Everyone from Cassius to 2ManyDJs smashed the terrace with this sing-a-long-a cheesy anthem.

3. 2001 Finally - Kings Of Tomorrow: 

First fully fledged We Love Sundays at Space summer, with Danny Tenaglia foremost in our mind’s eye making this the anthem for 2001. 

4. 2002 Silver Screen Shower Scene - Felix Da Housecat (Tiga’s mix): 

Though Felix/Tiga played almost always in the Discoteca, this track was huge in all of the rooms at We Love Space. 

5. 2003 Knights of the Jaguar - DJ Rolando: 

Steve Lawler partly responsible for delivering this track to the terrace, for me one of the biggest and best dance tracks of all time. 

6. 2004 I Feel Love - Donna Summer:  

Always massive at We Love, particularly on the terrace that year played by Lawler, but in truth as big now as it ever was.

7. 2005 Rej - Ame: 

I remember Smokin Jo playing this for the first time on the terrace. This year she has made her own edit (a Rihanna vocal) setting the terrace off once again. 

8. 2006 Erotic Discourse - Paul Woolford:  

First proper summer residency at We Love for Paul Woolford, helped to make his own record the number one for that summer. 

9. 2007 Professional Widow - Tori Amos: 

Another track that Wooly edited to make the anthem of that summer (even now ten years after it originally came out).

10. 2008 Sis - Trompeta: 

No anthem for me this summer, so this is the We Love HQ contribution. They say the boom-lick especially when played by Tiefschwarz that year. 

11. 2009 Rez - Underworld: 

Again, Paul Woolford editing a classic to bring to the terrace in 2009. 

12. 2010 Right On - Silicon Soul: 

This year stands out for me when remembering Silicon Soul’s Right On, with Smokin Jo being responsible for reintroducing it to We Love Space once again. 

13. 2011 Music Sounds Better - Stardust: 
 
A massive summer for Joris Voorn at We Love epitomised by his edit of this track. 

14. 2012 Barnt - Geffen: 

With the Innervisions crew hosting the terrace four times this summer, Dixon has not failed once to drop this with the crowds going ape.
