James Holmes, the Aurora, Colorado Batman shooter was a coward, cold blooded murderer and booby-trapping psycho who disregarded the sanctity of human life and threw electronic music and culture under the bus of the American public’s perception when he rigged his stereo to play “techno like” music from his apartment at roughly the same time as he carried out his attack. As was reported by The Washington Post and a few other smaller outlets, Holmes’ downstairs neighbor was reportedly disturbed when “deep based reverberating music” (my hunch is they meant “bass”) began emanating from his apartment. After banging on the door, the neighbor, Kaitlyn Fonzi 20, tested the door to the apartment in question and found it to be unlocked. She ultimately decided against opening the door and yelled that she was calling the cops. As police discovered later, the residence was elaborately rigged with explosives that Fonzi very luckily didn’t set off when she thought better of entering the flat. Pro Tip: don’t enter apartments you’re not invited into with techno playing.
