The Jacksons Pay Homage to their Brother in NY

Just three years after Michael's death, the surviving members of the Jackson 5; Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and Jackie reunited on stage last night at New York's Apollo Theater. The 90-minute show marked the first tour by the brothers since their 1984 'Victory' jaunt with Michael.

“We wanted to do the Apollo because this was pretty much where we started,” Marlon explained. “We wanted to come back and do a show here just to reminisce, just to give the Apollo something back.”

Beginning with an energetic rendition of "Can You Feel It" they performed a 28-song set featuring hits including “Rock With You”, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," “I Want You Back,” ABC,” “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “I’ll Be There".

Jackie Jackson admitted that neither technology nor his siblings can ever replace Michael. "He is sorely missed onstage," he said. "Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson. No one can take his place or emulate him in any way, shape or form.

"We can do the best we can do, and the fans in the audience are having a great time singing and dancing to the songs in their seats. That's all we want to do, see them be happy like that and enjoying the concert."

Last night’s performance was part of their 'Unity' reunion tour, continuing on through next month around the US.
