Man killed by stage collapse before Radiohead concert

A collapsed stage that was to host a Radiohead concert killed one man and injured three in Toronto over the weekend. The man was 33 year old drum technician Scott Johnson from England.

The top of the stage collapsed on Johnson during set-up for the concert, an hour before gates were set to open for the sold-out show.

Radiohead cancelled the performance, and drummer Philip Selway made this statement on the band’s website:

"We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott's family and all those close to him."

Listen to Thom Yorke on Pulse Radio.
