It’s no secret that the Internet is a great place for all kinds of nonsense, but as professional video production techniques get cheaper and faster, it’s quickly becoming a repository for media that rises above dumb pictures and screenshots. Enter Vice Magazine’s “Noisey” youtube channel and its most recent masterpiece, “What Do Cute Kids Think About Skrillex.” With the information overload we all suffer from daily, we sometimes lose sight of just how alien certain aspects of our culture and “music” have become. As you can see, there’s no better barometer for what a departure dubstep is from the norm than an unspoiled child’s psyche.
A few gem quotes from the kids:
"Sounds like my dog"
"Robot music"
"Makes me feel crazy, like I’ve eaten lots of sweets."
"I think he uses radios to make the noises."
"I think the 'drop' is, when you drop being sensible."
"Is that what he looks like in real life?"
"It looks horrifying"
"To make this song better, try to think more about the singing and less with noises."
"I won’t be his friend because I don’t like people who have piercings because it make them look fairly chavvy"
We can't help but think this might have influenced the idea a bit...
