The Revenge is coming to America! In advance of his appearance at Culprit's Los Angeles Sunday Rooftop party this sunday, he was nice enough to lend a hand in helping us chase the post WMC blues away with 5 records sure to help restore your soul. He also filled us in on what he's looking forward to festival wise this summer and what he has in the pipeline with his side project "Bodyfusion."
If you know what's good for you, you'll click through these lazy day tunes from days of old, and imagine you're loungin at the beach as the wind blows through your hair.....OR start making plans to catch this musical genius in the flesh as he plays in a town near you in LA, Chicago, Detroit, DC, Boston, NYC, Miami and Mexico.
Are you excited to help kick off a monster season for LA's increasingly legendary rooftop Sunday parties? How did the part come about? Can't wait to be honest. I met Andrei from Culprit in Moscow last year when we played together at Arma 17, we kept in touch and I did a remix for his label so I'm really looking forward to checking out what they get up to at The Standard.
What are some of the things you're excited to check out in the states when you're not playing records on this tour? There'll not be much time to check stuff out this time round as the schedule is pretty tight, but it's been a long time in the making sorting out visas, paperwork etc. so I'm just excited to get on the road and get the party started.
Is the tour in support of some new releases? What new records have you got to be released in the next couple months? I've just compiled the final "Instruments Of Rapture" release, which will be released in June. After that, I've got a new label starting with Harri from Sub Club in Glasgow and the new "6th Borough Project" album is also in progress, so myself and Craig Smith will have that finished by summer and out for beginning of 2013.
What cities will you be visiting for the first time on this tour? LA, Chicago, Detroit, DC, Boston and Mexico will all be firsts for me. I've only ever played NYC and Miami before.
What's on the horizon for "The Revenge" for Summer Festival season in 2012? The two I'm really looking forward to are Camp Bestival and the Garden Festival in Croatia which I'm sure will be guaranteed good times. Me and my mate Paul will also be kicking off my live set under the "Bodyfusion" name at Sub Club in June with a view to doing a few dates in the autumn. We used to play together live years ago under a different name but I stopped when things kicked off production-wise. It's basically us jamming in a trimmed down version of the studio using hardware and software and elements of tracks I've worked on over the years.
