Bestival 2010

The mammoth 4 day festival that is Bestival, held at Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight, on the 9, 10, 11 and 12th of September, just a got a little bit larger. Sadly the festival is sold out, so no point getting excited if you don’t already have a ticket… sorry. Janelle Monae (festival exclusive), The Jolly Boys and Mr Motivator have just been added to the line up alongside a slew of artists playing Club Dada, Polka Tent & The Black Dahlia tent. There is also the addition of The Wishing Tree field, a round-the-clock area to chill out and enjoy Balearic and blissful vibes while sipping on organic ales from the solar powered bar at The Bimble Inn…. Pretty damn lush huh!?

"I'm down on the Isle of Wight at the mo' supposedly having a breather before Bestival but actually just getting very excited about all the latest fun and games we have to announce. Janelle Monáe is without a doubt a superstar, fame and glory aside she just writes the best songs since Prince ... technicolour funk mayhem coming to Bestival only this year! The Jolly Boys were so brilliant at Camp Bestival we had to get them back for Besti and they'll be gracing the main stage - undoubtedly a Bestival moment waiting to happen.

Mrs da Bank has been very busy beavering away on a brand new field, The Wishing Tree, roughly running 24 hours and really a place to wind down after the main stage finishes and also somewhere to get horizontal during the day and check out some brilliant cabaret, comedy and our two new micro venues Chai Wallahs and The Bimble Inn, two staples of the alternative festi circuit. Make sure you discover the actual The Wishing Tree (you can't miss it) and get inside later on for ambient sets from the likes of Phil Mison, Chris Coco and Moonboots. Yoga, meditation and chanting is not compulsory but is encouraged. Phew ...i cant wait!"

The fancy dress theme for this year is Fantasy so it’s time to unleash your inner space cadet! There is a competition for the best costume, judged by La Roux, and to enter you need to email a photo of yourself dressed up to fantasyfancydress@bestival.net. A winner will be chosen on Friday the 3rd of September and the prize is a lifetime’s supply of tickets to Bestival!

Artists you can catch at the festival include:

Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, The Flaming Lips, The Prodigy, Simian Mobile Disco, Roxy Music, The XX, Fever Ray, Four Tet, Flying Lotus, Mumford & Sons, Dixon, Ramadanman, Tensnake, Dub Pistols, Mount Kimbie, Ewan Pearson, Nathan Fake and much, much more.
