This is the latest installment in the successful Prime Cuts series, featuring a selection of some of the best tracks the Sydney based label has to offer. Compiled by Shades of Gray, the CD features a number of stand outs from the last 12 months, serving up a taste of local Australian and international talent in house and deep house. Unmixed, the CD certainly lends itself to a Djs tool kit with plenty to choose from, starting the night off all the way to a sweaty dance floor.

Before listening to the CD you can't help but draw your eyes to the more familiar artists with the likes of Shur-i-kan, Pezzner, Peter Horrevorts, Jet Project and of course label heads Shades of Gray. What is most intriguing after having listened to the CD from front to back, is that the tracks by lesser known artists are just as potent, proving that Beef Records really takes pride in fostering up and coming, local and overseas talent alike.

It's difficult to choose a stand out track when they are all able to stand on their own merits. House of Cards is funky and hypnotic without overdoing it in the brass section, a delicate balance that will keep you coming back for more.  Spring 2010's Message From Chi-Town is dark, punchy and down right infectious. JML's Into The Wild is a surprise dark horse with Peter Horrevorts on remix duties, offering up a deep throbbing percussive serenade right up into the epic break down. One of those tracks that all DJs will appreciate. When you can't wait to get behind the decks, try it out, and get the punters moving.

All in all a very solid selection from Beef, and testament as to why the labels profile consistently continues to rise. The compilation is made all the more special by the fact that Australian talent is so well represented, and easily holding their own with the internationals.

Not content with 10 great tracks Shades of Gray made sure to include a free Dj mix from Melbourne producer Uone for your listening pleasure.
